Ali Ha and Ad Deville, the owners and curators at Factory Fresh, have developed a real knack for pairing artists in an interesting, provocative way. Like here, we get unsettling encounters between Diamond’s vaguely biomorphic horned and tentacular monsters, and Boris Hoppek’s clean, thickly drawn, playful and then suddenly super-sexual cartoony portraits. And given that both are adept in multiple media–Hoppek does graffiti between shows, but also shoots video and knits his own sculptures, while Diamond dabbles in photography, performance and installation–we’re excited to see what they’ve come up with.
