Montague made his first major impression on the art world back in 2006 with his exhibition and subsequent book on the study and observation of stray shopping carts. He presents the findings of a similarly esoteric pseudo-scientific pursuit in this exhibition and installation addressing what amounts to animal and insect gentrification. Specifically, through the fabrication of a whole field of study, the collecting of specimens and site photos, Montague looks at the animals and insects that take over abandoned buildings, effectively turning interiors back into exteriors.
