The second-to-last series in the Ohio’s loft (closing in August after the Ice Factory series), Clubbed Thumb’s annual festival of new playsfeatures three shows in week-long runs beginning with Kate E. Ryan’s Dot, about an unlikely intergenerational friendship between the titular character and the neighborhood weirdo, set in a surreal Florida town we imagine will resemble the subdivision in Edward Scissorhands. This will be followed by Samuel D. Hunter’s Five Genocides (June 13-19), about a blocked ghostwriter, and Anne Washburn’s The Small (June 20-26), about a man trapped in his dreams.
