I stayed at The Roosevelt last night. Yes: it is showing its age in lots of places but I can imagine that it was somewhat more stylish ~50 years ago in the era of MM.
When I checked-in, I made a reference to MM with the clerk but she seemed not to understand what I was talking about. Given the buzz around the show, it seems a missed opportunity that the management of the Roosevelt doesn't try to leverage MM connection. Even directly across the street at the Brooks Brothers store on the corner of 44th and Madison they were recently promoting the Mad Men suit and the early 1960's look.
If not for the lost elegance of the hotel itself, a stay at the Roosevelt is worthwhile for Maddicts just to imagine Don Draper walking down the hallways and riding the elevators with you.
