Seems like he was going a little overboard when he was talking about Googles plans for the future. He was largely misinterpreted, for example when he said "we can search where you are, see what you're looking at if you take a picture with your camera. One way to think about this is, we're trying to make people better people, literally give them better ideas—augmenting their experience."
Hes talking about the google maps, google goggle and google skymaps applications. Pretty much you see that building over there and photograph it with google goggles and it will tell you what building it is and a little information about it. With google skymaps you point your phone at a star and it will tell you what star it is as well as show you telescopic photography of it.
He does go a little overboard with his dreams of Advanced AI though because hes potentially looking 30 years from now when things like quantum computing will potentially be largely available.
I don't think i would consider him a creep though he might be getting a little too carried away with our technology and science fiction books.
