Re: “Is Obsessive "Curation" Ruining Brooklyn?

When people genuinely connect with and enjoy different parts of our culture they can also connect with other people who enjoy the same things. Curation is not just a way of defining ourselves, it's a way to connect with other people through the things we enjoy! If we love a song, we love a song, we want to share that joy with other people that dig it too. I want to connect with people who are passionate about the same things I am. If we like the same t.v. show we have something to talk about, if we really like the same band we can connect through our love of that music.

Some of my best friends I met through a shared appreciation for a band (I knew in a matter of seconds that we'd be friends just because they loved the same song, and 20 years later we're still friends). We're lucky to live in a time that has so much great easily accessible music to offer. I'm sick of spending literally years yearning to find a song I heard in a sk8 video. It's great those days are long gone! There's no such thing as too much good music, and it really doesn't matter how we find it as long as we do. www.myspace.com/closedeyesanimals
