Read the law again, you have it completely wrong: PL 221.10.
It is a misdemeanor if its in public view -or- OVER 25 grams. Anything less than 25 grams not in open view is a non-criminal offense (violation).

Seriously? They were indicted, which basically means they have been formally charged with crimes. There's been no trial and no plea. No one has been "found guilty" of anything.
