I'm hoping it was, and looking forward to having my mind changed. But I experienced way too many "off nights" right off the bat, which is unfortunate. Because it has the potential to be a great addition to the neighborhood. They just need to work on it.
Thank you for your comments. I actually visited the restaurant multiple times, and have tried many, many items besides the burger.
I'm also the last person to dismiss BR's food scene...I've lived here for over 12 years, and have always been a strong proponent of the neighborhood and the restaurants here. That's why I made a point of specifically referencing the "farm-to-table" scene. I am in no way undermining the otherwise fantastic food here in general.
Uh oh...have already flagrantly disobeyed the eating all the food and putting on clothes rules.
I EAT EVERY PIECE OF FOOD THAT COMES MY WAY. Apologies to my husband and my ever expanding waistline.
The good old days indeed....I probably wouldn't have enjoyed it as much had I been a food writer back in the '80's, but crummy nasty Park Slope is the height of nostalgia for me!
Chip Shop is tasty but pretty stand alone...I wouldn't want to crawl anywhere but back to bed after eating an order of fish and chips and a deep fried Mars bar.
I want to see how it comes out too!
