Oh Kristin, I am not one to profess love for someone on the internet, especially someone I have never met, but reading the second paragraph of this article - in which you describe your '80s love of the Yankees and yelling at Ron Darling - I fell in love a little.
Also, this article popped into my inbox as I was texting with a friend about how all of our mutual friends have moved to San Francisco, so I thought that this article was quite appropriate.
Simply, there are just no noteworthy music shops in New York any more. It's a stupid fact, but a fact. That's what we get when we let everything local get bulldozed for generic stores that could be anywhere. (Also, would have loved to see Baltimore's Sound Garden make the list.)

In the spirit of restoring the G train to its former glory, why don't we go back to when it ran to 71st/Continental in Queens?! At least on nights and weekends, when the M isn't running (congestion, and all that jazz).
