I didn't say it wasn't delicious but it's like going to a Greek restaurant for pesto. The Bab Alhara rec came from my former landlord, who is Palestinian, the ancestral home of filafel.
Authentic Turkish filafel! Filafel isn't Turkish at all and is actually really, really hard to find in Turkey. My Bay Ridge filafel vote goes to Bab Alhara at 86th/4th.
@Montague Street: waxy OJ cartons and aseptic packaging (e.g. juice boxes, shelf-stable milk/juice) goes in with metal/plastic/glass. That's a major oversight and I hope BK Mag adds that one in. People too often throw in milk/juice cartons with paper, resulting in all of the paper getting rejected by the recycling company.
Great article--although I fail to see the connection between vintage fashion and a garlicky, slightly piquant Turkish breakfast sausage so fatty that it fries itself in the pan.
