As a native New Yorker, born and raised on the lower east side of Manhattan, and as a refugee of an earlier invasion in the Reagan era of soulless money seeking viruses, I really appreciated your article. I currently live in Philadelphia in a neighborhood that has managed to hold on to ethnic origins and affordable rents. But the lattes are moving in our direction and I just hope they will see the neighborhood as too boring and dirty. There are too many real bars where dudes get drunk and fight.
