Ah, if you saw those other crummy movies, you'd be even more aware of how much Star Trek was actually worth the price of admission -- maybe that's why it didn't seem puzzling to me. I started assuming everyone saw that movie when I went to see it a second time with a group of ten people (which I assumed included some people who hadn't gone yet) and found out that everyone had actually already seen it once.

Whiteout was disappointing, especially after the L's review made it sound like the movie I wanted to see. Armored, though, was pretty much as you said, despite the total lack of Beckinsale, and I'm excited that Mr. Antal is in charge of a Predator movie for next summer, also despite the total lack of Bekinsale.

It's less shame than perplexedness, honestly; this exercise in self-exposure was as much for my education as yours. Mostly I'm just surprised to learn that I, living in New York with all its myriad options for entertainment, and with a fair amount of access to press screenings before movies come out, paid actual money to see Cold Souls (I mean David Strathairn was pretty good in it at least, but there are like 6,000 movies screening in New York at any given moment, and only a few dozen of them on the above list).

Is this some kind of twisted Movie Catholic confession? Where you're faintly embarrassed to have gone to see, what, Star Trek and Cold Souls?
