      <![CDATA[Not sure where you got the idea that the production Mike Nichols directed at the Beaumont in the 1960s was a failure, but it wasn't. Well, William Goldman in his famous book The Season wrote about how much he detested it, but that was in the context of Goldman complaining that the acclaim it received was undeserved.
