      <![CDATA[@Jeff ok, maybe Marmaduke was worse. But compared to the many arthouse, indie and foreign movies that come out every week--not to mention the "legitimate for consideration" studio pix--mainstream commercial folderol like the movies you mention are the REAL subset!!<br>

      <![CDATA[In a year that included Marmaduke, the Bounty Hunter, Sex and the City 2, The Last Airbender, and Grown Ups, there's no WAY Never Let Me Go is the worst movie of the year. The worst movie in a subset of supposedly high-quality movies, maybe.

      <![CDATA[I agree with this in most cases, but I can think of three decent adaptations off the top of my head. A Scanner Darkly, novel Philip K. Dick, adaptation by Richard Linklater.
