      <![CDATA[It's a shame the writer tried to make the story into one about supposedly shallow hipster dilettantes and their fickle passions.<br>
<br>
The real story is a tragic one. Obama squandered a tidal wave of passion and support among young people across the spectrum by coming out of the closet as the same old triangulating, supine-to-Wall-St., DLC-style centrist Democrat.
