Aakash Nihalani: Overlap

Tuesdays-Saturdays. Continues through Dec. 18 2010
212-989-7074

We've been big fans of Nihalani's work since he started making abstract tape installations on the street, and here he's really taken it up a notch, producing a series of new wall-hung aluminum sculptures, and a trio of pieces parodying the wealthiest living artists (Koons, Hirst and Murakami). More mature methods and subjects haven't taken anything away from the aesthetic fun of it all; everything is still bright colors and Pop art-evoking forms.
