Abstract expressionism, a (if not "the") defining movement in modern American art about which you may have heard, is kind of MoMA's bread and butter, hence this stellar survey show drawn entirely from the museum's collection of all the important ab-ex works produced by New York artists. Those include: Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Barnett Newman, Willem de Kooning, Ad Reinhardt and many more.
