Steve Pink mines familiar territory in this college party comedy, drawing upon Animal House and its countless spinoffs in a standard tale of the underdog. Justin Long plays Bartleby Gaines, a smooth talking high school senior who can't seem get into college. He and his friends create a fake institution to please his parents, taking over an abandoned mental facility, setting up a faux web site, and even convincing a bitter, ex-academic uncle (Lewis Black) to pose as the dean. Predictably, when a bunch of other college rejects show up at the door, they make it work despite the odds. It’s also in spite of a premise that's never quite possible to buy, scatological humor that only occasionally elicits a chuckle, and a storyline that's uneven at best.
