You could almost say that this New York-based artist who crafts subtle and shimmering hanging structures out of metal wire and paper, is really working with light. The way her shiny metallic cages, nearly invisible wire nets and perforated paper patterns glow and cast shadows is quite stunning, though after your eyes adjust to the dazzling light show you’ll be equally amazed to see the meticulous craftswomanship that goes into each piece. This show’s central collection of elongated metal cages evokes pretty much the opposite of imprisonment and confinement: they’re more like steampunk jellyfish, floating gently skyward.
