Millions of Ai's hand-painted ceramic sunflower seeds carpeted the Tate's Turbine Hall back in 2010, but visitors were quickly prohibited from stepping on them for fear of creating and then inhaling dangerous ceramic dust. A relative handful of the seeds (five tons) is spread a couple inches thick here, and though there's no velvet rope around the installation, there is a guard keeping people off the art.
