Tonight marks the second of three shows in the Guggenheim’s Dark Sounds series, a musical extension to their “Haunted: Contemporary Photography/Video/Performance” exhibit, where the feeling of “melancholy, ghostliness and the uncanny” are explored. As such, Andrew Bird—he of whistling, violins and childlike innocence—has teamed up with sculptor/inventor/instrument repairman for a site-specific performance promising lots of looping and speaker horns. Ghostly? We’ll see. Uncanny? You bet.
