Writer/traveler Andrew Demetre's kinetic spoken narrative, performance, and live essay–the first of a series—shares the first-hand experiences, reflections, and cultural mishaps the writer had while, with little preparation, picking up and traveling to Western China, and immersing himself multiple times into the diverse, complicated culture of the riot-scarred city of Ürümqi, Xinjiang Province, Peoples Republic of China, while also navigating a tricky, cross-cultural relationship.
