Eve Sussman, a venerable video artist not only in her own right but also in tandem with the shadowy Rufus Corporation collective, curates a group show of films by over a half dozen video and performance artists. Broadly defined, the over-arching aesthetic seems to be one of play, either in the recombinations of existing archival and pop cultural footage like Jim Finn’s thematic compilations and Johan Grimonprez’s mad-cap micro-histories, or in the staging and re-transmission of enigmatic performances like the animalistic adventures of Marcus Coates, filmed giving a radio interview decked out in his trademark taxidermy costume.
