What's your favorite thing to do in Brooklyn with a significant other?
Go out to dinner. I know that sounds cliche, but there are so many delicious restaurants in the vicinity and I crave them all! Also, my friends opened up a super-tiny movie theater called Spectacle (South 3rd and Bedford) that has a great roster of independent/foreign/classic films. We saw the amazing silent film Salome scored by our friend Nikki, and it was incredible.

Do you have a best/worst date story?
A long time ago I was approached by this James Dean lookalike after seeing Downtown 81 at the Screening Room. He asked me out and we met a few days later at Tompkins Square Park. It turned out he was homeless and the park was his home. We got along really well despite this, and while I was considering date #2, a drug dealer started to beat him up—I guess he owed him money—and my date ran away with blood streaming down his face. Never saw him again.

Favorite spring additions to the store?
Since I work exclusively with local designers who make only a few pieces each season, it'll be a surprise for me as well to see what they'll bring in. But I know that for my own clothing line Sirius*, I will be using a lot of hand-painted and dyed silks and soy-based jersey fabrics to make one-of-a-kind party dresses that are so soft and comfortable you won't want to take them off after the party has come to an end.

Favorite spring trends?
Pretty dresses, and bright colors, and fun, bold jewelry. Pieces to have fun in the sun in! Oh sun, how I miss thee! Brrrr!
