Barbara Siegel, Monica Carrier and Jeanette May
Wednesdays-Sundays. Continues through June 21 2009
Each artist employs a meticulous practice to create vastly different works. Siegel performs a kind of amateur geological survey, with sketches of rocks and backlogs of detailed information about their discovery and documentation. Carrier draws massive, spiraling ink forms on paper that evoke writing, smoke, waves and buildings. May’s staged photographs, finally, present scenes whose female characters are oddly absent.
