Performing gestures as simple as Duchamp’s readymades, or complex assemblages crafted out of familiar objects, the artists in this group show turn everyday objects into artworks for aesthetic investigation and consumption. These can involve items as massive and material as Yumi Janairo Roth’s reconstructed shipping pallets or as ephemeral and fleeting as Fawad Khan’s news media reinterpretations.
