A year removed from Parts & Labor’s final show, almost to the day, tonight's outing will allow its keyboardist/electronics manipulator/sound distorter Dan Friel to showcase what he’s been up to with that extra free time (hint: it's a new album called Total Folklore). Given Parts & Labor’s legacy and past glimpses of Friel’s solo material—namely, the 2008 LP Ghost Town—we wouldn’t be surprised to learn that he’s still behind some of the most exhilarating, full-throttle music being made in the borough.
