Day of the Dead (Día de Muertos)

Halloween wasn’t just made for costumes, candy and booze. Honor
departed loved ones during this traditional Mexican celebration at St.
Marks Church-in-the-Bowery. Guests are invited to bring photographs,
candles and marigold flowers (known as the flowers of the dead) to
decorate the colorful alter constructed at the church. There will also
be plenty of food to eat, a market to browse and workshops to attend,
with events running on October 31 and November 1 from 3 p.m. to 7
p.m., and November 2 & 3 from noon to 7 p.m.
