Do You Believe in Love at First Sight?

We definitely believe in lust at first sight (as in the desire to sleep with someone immediately). Love at first sight, however, is a matter of luck (as in you’ve slept with the inamorata/o and then it turns out you both really like Sanford and Son. That’s love.)

All relationships need work, so even if you have love right away, that doesn’t mean you’re going to have love all the time from then on. I’ve been married twice, so there’s your proof that love doesn’t always last. If you have someone and think, “Well, we’re in love, nothing to worry about,” I guarantee you it’s going to fail. You’re still young so you don’t know, but being married is more a job than your job will ever be. [But do you think you can fall in love at first sight?] Yes. But they might not fall back in love with you. And they’d have to be really good-looking.

Yes! I believe in love at first sight. It happened to me. It’s a long story and I won’t tell you. Except that she was wearing a white dress.

No. That idea is all bullshit, like a fairy tale... Cinderella. For kids. I’ve never had love like that, and all the people I know who say they’ve had it leave the person immediately.

You don’t walk up to people and start hugging them do you? No. You have to talk first. You should enjoy your life, find a partner that’s right for you and get married. I had an arranged marriage myself. My mother arranged it, and it was a very good match. I saw my wife in a picture first, before I saw her, and I thought she was beautiful. She still is. But love deepens when you know a person.

Well, yeah, but if you meet the person after you see them it’s not really going to be a pure love because no one is perfect. If you only see them, then maybe you can fall in love with them in a perfect kind of way.
