I grew up outside DC, and high school was all about Clinton getting impeached. After a while you just tune it out, you know? It’s one thing when an anti-gay person ends up being gay, but even that has happened a bunch now. Someone cheating on their wife isn’t news, no matter what party they’re in. It just feels like media bullshit—talking about that instead of important stuff.

I usually don’t, but Anthony Weiner is different. I didn’t really care when he first did it, or about Spitzer, but when it came out that Weiner did it again, that pretty much shows he can’t be trusted. I started rooting against him when the new stuff came out. Looks like everyone else did, too, so good.
I don’t think I would ever not vote for someone because of something like that. I always vote for the Democrat, but I don’t vote in whatever they’re called. Primaries. So if a Democrat has a scandal like that, I’d probably still not want the Republican more. But it seems like pretty much every politician has something like that, so you can’t be picky.
That kind of thing makes me respect the people less, but I don’t have a lot of respect for politicians anyway. If they’re not lying about sex, they’re lying about something else. I can’t really think of anyone in the US who deserves a lot of respect, and that’s without scandals. No one seems to care about the poor people in this country.
