Though she hasn’t lived there in decades, Phuon returned to her native Cambodia over the last three years to develop this melding of the Western dance techniques she has mastered and transformed, and the country’s traditional Khmer style of movement. Khmeropédies I & II begins with Cambodian court dances before incorporating contemporary elements for solo and ensemble premieres.
