This summer ESG, the wildly influential early-80s sister act from the Bronx, played what was billed at the time as their last ever NYC show. It seems the declaration was just slightly premature. Because here comes another night billed as a celebration of the dance-punk geniuses’ “Last Ever New York City Show.” And while we can’t help but chuckle about maybe taking a pass to hit their next Last Show Ever in early 2013, we’re actually just psyched for the second chance. This particular farewell pairs them with Yeasayer drummer Ahmed Gallab, whose solo project Sinkane just released a debut on DFA Records.
UPDATE: In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, this show as been postponed to a TBA date in December or January.
