Though she's mostly remembered as a sculptor, two groups of paintings dating from 1960—ten years before her death at age 34—give us a glimpse of Eva Hesse's works on canvas, formerly dismissed as mere studies but posited here as revelatory self-portraits. The 19 canvases on view evoke Paul Klee while anticipating Marlene Dumas.
