Danish trio Figurines have been going at it since the mid-90s and could fit snuggly into the "One List Wonders" retrospective featured on Pitchfork today, one could argue, putting their 2006 so-called hit "The Wonder" alongside Oxford Collapse for its quirky, hyper, Modest Mouse-like energy. But, you know what? They have a new album out too, and it's rooted in that same melancholic, skewed melody. Check it out.
