A few years ago Paul Hogan, with the help of whoever was fulfilling his vision through a live band, was responsible for some of the city’s most promising pop for charmingly bookish types—those affected by the latest Hospitality record, those who favor collared shirts, those who wish Brian Wilson stuck to chamber pop. But then Hogan stopped. His doctorate in musical composition from Columbia may have been involved? Tonight’s reunion appears to be an one-off chance to catch up on the last few years. It’ll be introduced by equally whimsical Friend Roulette, cofronted by a member of Frances’ live band.
