We've been steadfast in our support of Freelance Whales — primarily because their 2009 debut, Weathervanes, was far better than debuts generally have any business being, full of remarkably infectious, playful indie-pop that's equal parts electronic and acoustic, but also because they're from Queens, which, you know, is not something enough bands can say for themselves, considering the cheaper rent and all that.
