After the mad rush of performance festivals that kicks off the year things get pretty frugal around here. That is until Horse Trade Theater Group and San Francisco-based Exit Theatre’s FRIGID New York, now in its fifth year, brings thirty shows from all over North America to three East Village venues (The Kraine, Red Room and Under St. Marks) covering everything from comedy and clown performances to classic Greek tragedy and contemporary multi-media adventures. Looking over the calendar, we especially like the sound of Mechanically Separated Meat by New York’s International BTC, in which a man offends his talking toaster and precipitates an uprising of appliances.
