Gaia and Imminent Disaster

Thursdays-Sundays. Continues through July 26 2009

Both artists use the tropes and styles of street art to question our relationships to more or less distant narratives. In Gaia’s animal characters, he stages stories from Greek mythology with an eye to contemporary situations and moral conundrums. Imminent disaster uses her art to explore tensions in recent New York history, questioning disused infrastructure and forgotten beauty, and tracking the evolving architectures of gentrification.
