Global/National

Tuesdays-Saturdays. Continues through May 1 2010

Another excellent, sprawling international and inter-disciplinary themed show from Exit Art curators Jeanette Ingberman and Papo Colo, who brought together works that express how in every national, regional and individual form of cultural expression, there is an increasingly broad, shared global vision. Whether it’s current Whitney Biennial artist Kate Gilmore smashing out of confined spaces, Guerra de la Paz assembling colorfully utopian sculptures from clothes found on the street, Bernard Williams’s story-like painted lists, or Jade Townsend’s enigmatic architectural installations, all speak of cultures in crisis, reaching out towards an even more unstable world.
