Hand Crafted: A Celebration of Brooklyn Bicycle Builders
The L Magazine and Jack Daniel's are teaming up to bring you Hand Crafted: A Celebration of Brooklyn Bicycle Builders. We've tasked four independent, Brooklyn-based bike builders with handcrafting new, original bikes inspired by the Jack Daniel's Family of Brands: Old No. 7, Gentleman Jack, Single Barrel, and Tennessee Honey.
Shawn Yackle and Gina Scardino of King Kog, Joseph Nocella of 718 Cyclery, Lance Mercado of SquareBuilt and Thomas Callahan of Horse Cycles will each craft a bike from the ground up, drawing inspiration from the legend and lore of Jack Daniel's. Over the next few days, we'll bring you videos from inside their workspaces so you can get to know each of these talented craftsmen and see each bike from its inception down to the very last spoke.
On Wednesday, March 6 from 8-11pm we'll be hosting an event in Williamsburg to celebrate the program with live performances by local favorites The Babies and Nude Beach, not to mention plenty of Jack Daniel’s on hand.
Plus, everyone who attends will be eligible for a chance to take home one of these custom built bicycles inspired by Jack Daniel’s.
