It stings us to see this moved from cushy Webster Hall, the assumption being that ticket sales weren’t on their way to selling out a 1,500-cap venue, but that’s probably because we feel an admittedly abnormal attachment to the husband-wife team of Dan Boeckner and Alexei Perry. (You’d be hard pressed to find someone who strums a guitar or manhandles a drum machine with more gusto than they do.) It started at a show of theirs in 2009 when they won us over with a visceral, in-your-face performance and unjaded gratitude for the audience, and grew from there. If you see them tonight, we bet you'll feel the same.
