Heliotropes, The Suzan

Thu., July 25, 7 p.m. 2013; FREE w/ suggested donation for museum admission

Here's a free museum show from one of the borough’s most promising garage-rock groups, Heliotropes, who’ve been inching into more sinisterly stoned sludge metal lately. Their debut album, A Constant Sea, suggests at least a few weekends spent with Sabbath. Japanese band The Suzan, who’ve called New York home for quite a while now, are a bit lighter but still sharp. They make weird pop that recalls Devo and ESG.
