Hott Tickets!

with Mike Conklin

Lots of good stuff going on in New York Town this week. Looks like the Lord is gonna walk in on Blair and Chuck totally doing it, Serena and Dan are gonna get stuck in an elevator and probably do it, and Eric and Little J might even do it, too. Also, there are many bands playing.

Noteworthy Shows:
9/17  Sunset Rubdown and Passion Pit at Mercury Lounge
I thought it was still Wolf Parade season?

9/18  Phosphorescent at Open Road Rooftop
You should go to the Phosphorescent MySpace page and listen to ‘Right Now I’m A Roaming’, a touching song about all the stuff Matthew Houck plans to do when he gets off tour.

9/18  The Lilys at The Bell House
Opening night at the new Gowanus venue, with the fabulously weird Lilys providing the psych-pop soundtrack.

9/18  Sigur Ros at United Palace Theater
I’m suddenly very, very sleepy.

9/19  Vivian Girls at Cake Shop
Poppy garage-rock from a Brooklyn band I stand proudly behind.

9/20  Stars at Terminal 5
An evening of irresistible electronic pop songs from the Amy Milian-fronted Arts & Crafts band.

9/21  Giant Sand at Gramercy Theatre
Confession: I didn’t know there was a new Giant Sand record. I’m gonna go listen to it now.
