The "8 NYC Bands" issue, which came out a couple weeks back, was the first issue in a long, long time that did not contain a Hott Tickets column. It was nice to take a breather from it, especially with so much other music content in the magazine, but now it's been an awfully long time since I've bugged you about Northside Festival (June 11-14, all over Williamsburg), and we just can't have that be the case. Four-day badges are still on sale at northsidefestival.com, and they're still insanely cheap. Tickets for individual shows, by the likes of Sunset Rubdown, Bishop Allen, The Dodos, John Vanderslice and Brightblack Morning Light, along with many others, are also on sale. The full schedule of performers and showcase presenters will be posted soon as well, so if by any chance you still need convincing, you might want to take a trip over there pronto. Hope to see you all there. More details to follow in the coming weeks.
In the meantime:
5/13 Animal Collective at Terminal 5
You think the buzz has died down, but that's because you haven't tried to buy tickets yet.
5/16 Peaches at Webster Hall
You will feel filthy in the morning, but it will be fun.
5/17 Iron & Wine at Abrons Art Center
Aw, come on... you remember him. The guy you listened to before Fleet Foxes came around.
5/24 Sunday Best at The Brooklyn Yard
Live DJs give you something to listen to while you sit in an empty lot near the Gowanus Canal getting drunk and eating tacos purchased from a truck.
