Obviously we couldn’t do everyone even if we wanted to, and we can’t do nobody if we care about security at all. Random would be stupid, so we have to choose selectively. I don’t think a blanket thing about all Muslims is right, but if we’re watching for terrorists I don’t know where else to start. I’m not racist, but no one who lived here on 9/11 wants to take any risk about something happening again.

Of course I hate it. I don’t want to say anything bad about the police in this city, but I have had no good experiences with them. My best experiences are when they ignore me. Whenever I’m in a store or even with my kids I feel cops watching me like they think I’m a suicide bomber. I’m just a cab driver!

I don’t think about it, but I hate cops. Before they were messing with “Islams” they were messing with black folk. They still mess with black folk. You heard of “stop and frisk”? You can’t be expected to know what we go through. I got my own problems with the police.

I don’t see what point it serves. Why is the NYPD doing it? Shouldn’t it be the CIA or FBI who looks for terrorists? Aren’t there better things that the police can be doing? I tell you my neighborhood is frightening to walk through at night. I want to see police cars drive up and down my streets, not to see tax money go to phone taps or reading e-mails or whatever it is they’re doing. I don’t want the CIA doing that either, but at least that’s what the CIA should be doing.
