Just a few days after her old bandmates in Belle and Sebastian released their very good new album, Ms. Campbell comes to town with her more recent collaborator, the forever surly Mark Lanegan, of Screaming Trees fame. Theirs has been a surprisingly fruitful artistic relationship, now producing three full-length albums, the most recent of which, Hawk, has flown much further under the radar than it should. It contains their sharpest, most focused material yet.
