We've been fans of Jamie Lidell for a few years now — the sound of his soul-inspired voice over what has traditionally been a tasteful bed of electronic tracks is soothing and stylish, and perfect, we think, for early-morning listening. His new album, Compass, which was produced by Beck, is his best, most focused work to date: Everything is just a bit more than usual. It's more stylish, more soulful, more soothing, etc.
