In his latest series of brightly striped acrylic compositions, Walden reigns in his color palette somewhat, focusing on one range of colors in each painting: reds, purples, pinks and mauves in one; green, turquoise, teal and olive in another. Densely layered, widening and thickening as they cross each canvas diagonally, these new works combine an infinite variation in tone and subtle fluctuations of texture with intense directional dynamism.
