In the Floridian, Brooklyn-based artist’s first major museum survey, the Studio Museum presents some 20 videos wherein Linzy films and performs characters and music he writes and conceives himself, drawing on his training as an actor, singer-songwriter and his childhood experiences performing with a church choir. Think Cindy Sherman and Mickalene Thomas with a dash of Paris is Burning.
