It's Kara Walker season! At Lehmann Maupin on the Lower East Side we have three new shadow puppet videos dealing with the treatment of white women in the antebellum South, levies along the Mississippi, and Walker's satiric analysis of having the blues. In Chelsea, chez Sikkema Jenkins & Co., will be new series of her iconic silhouette graphite drawings and a recent set of hand-printed texts.
